Honoured to announce that we were featured on Vancouver Bride earlier this week!

This shoot was SO much fun! We ascended a big, beautiful mountain in Squamish, via the Sea to Sky Gondola, to reach towering sunset views. Our Vancouver based couple, Maggie + Johnson, were excitedly up for anything - so long as we celebrated their engagement by popping the bottle of champagne they had brought along. No argument here!

So our team got started to create a memorable Engagement Session. The beautiful (and glowing at 6 months pregnant) Christina, from Red Carpet Ready by Christina set off to pretty up Maggie; while Pascale, of Gadbois Photography, and I adventured across the suspension bridge and various landscapes of the mountain top to scout the perfect shoot location.

As I mentioned on the blog, you really don't require many extra floofy props to make the top of the World look good in photos. So, my challenge in perfectly styling this location was working with my natural surroundings to enhance and articulate the couple's style...rather than creating a "scene". I chose a small selection of eclectic blankets, gathered some pine cones, cedar sprigs, and moss to help set the tone. I hung some wire lamp shades in the surrounding trees for a playful touch, and lit some candles to create a little mood. Billie's Flower House provided the most awe-inspiring bouquet (feathers and all), and a gorgeous headpiece that acted as perfect accessories. Maggie + Johnson took it from there!

The results were breathtaking, fun, and most of all, representative of M+J's playful character. These two have been together just over a year, with a wedding fast approaching in July, and one million things on their to-do lists...they really let this shoot take them away.

Here's a look behind the scenes, visit Vancouver Bride to see the final product! Hope it takes you to a bit of special place as well :)
